Convalesence

The Convalescent Care Program (where available) provides you with the care you need to convalesce and recover strength, endurance, and functioning. The length of stay for this program is a maximum of 90 days per the calendar year that can be used at one time if determined necessary.

24/7 Care

The benefit of having 24 hour home care is that a caregiver will be with a client at all times and will be awake even throughout the night to ensure supervision of the client. Some people prefer this option as they believe caregivers are more refreshed and alert since there is at least one caregiver rotation in a 24 hour period.

Dementia Care

Dementia can be an emotional journey and moving into full-time care may be a difficult decision for the resident and their family. You must be absolutely confident that the care home you choose has the right facilities, skills and approach to support people whose lives are changed by dementia.

What is Dementia?

Dementia is an umbrella term for a number of neurological conditions, which include:

  • Alzheimer’s
  • Vascular dementia
  • Lewy Body dementia
  • Frontotemporal dementia

It is not a natural part of the aging process but the risks of developing dementia do increase with age. The symptoms are caused by physical changes in the brain and are unique to the individual.

Symptoms vary, depending on the individual and the type of dementia they have. Typical symptoms can include short team memory loss, difficulties with organizational and planning skills, confusion, problems with word finding, and changes in understanding and judgment. However many people with dementia retain a range of strengths and these abilities can be supported through a combination of sensitive support, trusting relationships and a thorough understanding of the person in an environment designed to maximize their abilities and independence.

Respite Care

What is Respite Care?

Respite care for the elderly is a short-term stay at a senior living community. It is often suggested for seniors who are recovering from a hospital visit or other health circumstance. It’s also available when a caregiver takes an extended vacation or for a senior living trial period. Depending on the community, our respite care services are available for a variety of care levels, including assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.
